1 -
Fold 20cm of
0.30mm piano wire to make a 10cm braid. Shape a 3 to 5mm bridge by folding
the end of the braid at right angles.
|
2 -
Set
the spring of the guard by pressing your finger lightly on it. Maintain
the spring with one hand while the other folds the two ends of the wire
backward. Set the bridge free and open the guard at right angles to the
hook shank. While maintaining them backward and on either side, bind the
two pieces of wire very tightly along 1.5cm of the shank.
|
3
– Cut
the excess wire. To finish and stow the hook: make the final knot, apply
cyanolite and set the bridge back behind the barb. To continue: run the
thread with touching turns level with the barb. Then fold a 49 strand/12kg
wire trace of 20cm to make a 10cm braid.
|
4
– Insert
a link swivel in the loop of the trace and offer up the whole as shown by
the needle in the photo. Bind very tightly with touching turns of thread
towards the eye back to the middle of the hook shank. Fold the wire trace
backwards and bind tightly with touching turns of thread to the swivel.
Cut the excess trace and lock the trace/swivel joint under thread. Again
run touching turns of thread to mid shank.
|
5 – Apply
a liberal coating of cyanolite along the whole shank taking care not to
glue the swivel pivot. Form a small ball ( or a cone with the point
forward) mid shank. Apply cyanolite and leave to dry. Then take wide turns
to the bend.
|
6 -
Offer
up a rabbit fur strip on either side of the shank ( with the tail end
sticking about 7cm farther than the bend). Bind tightly to 2 or 3mm in
front of the ball.
|
7
– After
putting it in a hair stacker, offer up a bunch of bucktail, points facing
backwards, in front of the ball and tie it with two loose turns of thread.
Spin the bucktail evenly round the shank, then bind it with two or three
tight turns to flare it.
|
8
– Continue
binding moderately with touching turns to the top of ball or cone. Apply
cyanolite on the binding and on the surface contact of the hair from the
base of the cone backward. Leave to dry. Trim excess hair.
|
9
– Offer
up a rabbit fur strip. Wind the thread with touching turns down to the
weed guard. Apply a touch of cyanolite gel on top of the shank and wind
the fur strip down to the waiting thread. Tie it with a few turns and trim
excess. Bring the tying thread in front of the weed guard and tie off
making a cylinder whose inner diameter is that of the silicone tube.
|
10
– Apply
cyanolite on the cylindrical head. Position the weed guard behind the barb.
The standard tail module is over!
